SnB Comes to PDX!

Debbie Stoller comes to Powell's on Tuesday, Nov. 4 as part of the Stitch 'n Bitch book tour. I just got my copy of the book in the mail yesterday. I made the poncho that's in the book. I plan to go to the reading and get an autograph!

Bazaar-O

I was invited to participate in a bazaar in December and, initially, I didn't think I would because I don't have nearly enough inventory of anything to sell, since I don't normally sell my stuff. But I spoke with one of the organizers and she said I could knit something as simple as scarves. That sounds easy enough! I better get started...

Another New Yarn Store

Last week, I found out that there is another new yarn store in town. It's called Knit*Knot Studio and it's also located in the Pearl District at 1238 NW Glisan, several blocks from Lint. The owner of this store specializes in custom knitwear. I still haven't had a chance to check out either store yet, but they sound fabulous!

So Chic!

I was able to find some time to finish the ChicKami last week. It looks great. I didn't take any pictures because it basically looks the same as the unblocked picture. I don't think I'll be able to wear it out anytime soon though. Looks like the rains are coming. I think my next projects will involve using up more of my stash to create stuff for this bazaar I may participate in this December. I'll also be planning which Rebecca project gets first priority!

Pre-Blocking

I finally finished up the ChicKami last night. Worked on it a lot while I was in Boston. I just need to weave in those ends and give it a good blocking. Maybe I can still wear it during a few days here before the winter rains start in. I have no idea what my next project will be. Something from the new Rebecca. Lately, all I seem to be spending my money on is house stuff.

Strapped Up

I finished one of the wide straps on the ChicKami last night. It feels good to be almost done with this project. It's been fun to knit. I'll probably finish the other strap in the Vegas airport during my layover. Then I can block it after I get home at 2 a.m. tomorrow morning! I tried to get an earlier flight, but no such luck. Ugh.

Seeing Progress

I'm slowly getting my knitting groove back on. I finished the back of the ChicKami last night and now onto the front. I head to Boston tonight on the redeye for a weeklong conference. I'm looking forward to the time away.

A Night of Knitting

I finally got a night of knitting in on Wednesday evening. I have started the raglan seams on the ChicKami. I expect I can have it finished next week when I'm out of town. Yay!

I Miss Knitting

Between all the house stuff, work, and trying to catch up on TiVo'd TV, I have found no extra time for knitting. It makes me a little sad. I'm going to try to pick up the ChicKami again tonight and work on it some. I am heading to Boston next week for a conference, so I'll have lots of time to knit on the plane. Woohoo!
