Sewing: Vena Cava Vogue V1228 Dress

I finally cut out the fabric for this Vena Cava dress yesterday and matching the plaid was not nearly as horrible as I was anticipating it to be. I spent all afternoon sewing this dress up and I like the result. This dress has kimono sleeves with tabs and some very interesting pleating details on the front and back. I neglected to read reviews of this particular pattern, but I wish I had because then I would have known that the neckline is cut really low. (Thanks for trying to forewarn me Silvia!) I will most likely wear a tank underneath to remedy that problem. The only modification I made was to omit the zipper since the dress can easily be pulled on. With the arrival of fall here in Portland, I can see layering this with a long-sleeved tee and tights.
