USDA seizes possibly diseased sheep in Vermont
Last weekend Peter caught the first springer of the season and started off the MeatFest with a bang. Fresh grilled salmon is so amazingly tasty. Beef, on the other hand, is another matter entirely. This entire mad cow disease/ foot and mouth scare has made me rethink eating all meat. I don't know if that last statement was serious or not. I do not eat beef and haven't for a long time. Sometimes I will sample some exotic game, but NO beef. All of this hype has made me see what a gluttonous society we have. Bigger, better, more. It's depressing. Further evidence is provided with Eric Schlosser's book Fast Food Nation. Haven't read it yet, only excerpts. Very interesting.
