Lopapeysa 1: Skógafjall by Dianna Walla
I had never knit a yoked sweater before and in my search for a good beginner pattern, I found three lopapeysas that I really loved: Schulz by Michele Wang / Brooklyn Tweed, Skógafjall by Dianna Walla / Tolt Yarn and Wool and Gamaldags by Hélène Magnússon. I decided to start with Skógafjall and ordered some Lopi to cast on. The pattern was easy-to-follow and knit up very quickly. I finished both sleeves during one weekend! I added a couple of inches to the body length, but no other modifications were made. I finally just blocked the sweater this past weekend by soaking it in the tub with some conditioner to soften up the Lopi and then air drying it. The sweater looks and feels much cozier now. Can't wait to wear it! Next up is Schulz.
