Sewing and Knitting Recap

My last two knitting projects have been hats: Huck, a cabled beanie, from Brooklyn Tweed and Knop, a fisherman's rib hat, from Woolfolk. Both hats had interesting stitch patterns that kept my full attention. Recently, I've been obsessed with shaker rib knits and my current knitting project is a Bernat shaker rib sweater pattern using Cascade Pacific Chunky yarn, so it's moving along very quickly. Over the holiday weekend I finally selected a project to make from the new Nani Iro pattern book after sewing up a couple of muslins, so I could cut into my Nani Iro striped double gauze with confidence. It's a simple long shift dress with short kimono sleeves, in seam pockets and a split length hem. This project took about two and a half hours and I love how it turned out. I will get a lot of wear out of this dress!
