Gathered Sleeve Top

I made this top on an afternoon during the last weekend in September but I forgot to post about it until now! The pattern is from a Check & Stripe Japanese pattern book. I bought the fabric at Josephine's Dry Goods and it's a neon green sheer voile that doesn't translate too well in the photos. It's super bright and I love it. The top only had two pieces, the front and back, as well as a neckline facing. As you may be able to see from the photos, all the gathering is done on the top of the back sleeves, then those front and back sleeves are sewn overlapped at the top instead of with the right sides together. It creates a very unique and interesting look. I'll be sewing lots of projects from this book!
