Fun Bulky Knit Sweaters

s a minimalist sweater, with a high mockneck design, a cropped length, a wide width and long sleeves. Knit entirely seamlessly and in the round.I finished these two sweaters this past week and I love how they turned out. The Strathcona and Kingston patterns are from Good Night, Day designer Tara-Lynn Morrison and are available in a print book or as an e-book or individual patterns on Ravelry. Years and years ago, I was really into chunky yarns, but these were the first patterns I've knit recently using bulky yarns. I love these patterns for their modern minimalist designs, cropped length and slightly balloon-shaped sleeves. They are knit entirely seamlessly and in the round. Using mainly a size 19 needle, I was able to finish each sweater in about a day. For the Strathcona, I used one of the Vickie Howell + Valley Yarns super bulky yarns in a great mustard color. For the Kingston pullover, I used Cascade Magnum in a discontinued light lime green. Unfortunately, none of my photos captures the true colors of these yarns that well. The pictures at the top are the closest to what they look like. The lime green yarn matches this shirt that I sewed up in October. I had an epic knitting fail during the blocking process of the Strathcona that required me to rip all of it and start over again. I was pretty bummed, but luckily was able to knit it back up pretty quickly. These will be super warm and cozy!
